Account, plans & billing

Your Kumo.io account

Your Kumo.io account lives at account.kumo.io. It is where you log in, create your workspace, connect self-hosted installations, manage licences and billing, and secure your login.

Applies to: HostedPlan: All

Your account and your workspace

Kumo.io separates the person from the product:

  • Your Kumo.io account at https://account.kumo.io holds your login, your security settings, your licences and your billing.
  • Your workspace is where your team uses Kumo.io. It lives at its own address, https://kumo.io/@<workspace-address>.

You log in to your workspace with your Kumo.io account. That is why, on a hosted workspace, Settings → Profile & Security shows a Login & Security notice with an Open Your Kumo.io Account link instead of password and two-factor controls: those are managed here.

If you run Kumo.io yourself, the account portal is still where you connect your installations and manage their licences. Logins on a self-hosted installation are managed by that installation.

Logging in

Open https://account.kumo.io and choose Log In, or Sign Up to create an account. You can log in with your email and password. If the login page shows a Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub button, you can use that account instead. If two-factor authentication is on, Kumo.io asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes.

Forgot your password? Choose Forgot Password? on the login page and Kumo.io emails you a reset link.

A portal login lasts up to 12 hours. Some actions, such as deactivating an installation, ask you to log in again if your last login was more than 15 minutes ago.

What's on the home page

After you log in you land on Your Kumo.io account. The top navigation has three sections:

Section What it's for
InstallationsConnected Kumo.io instances, their status and updates. Your hosted workspace is listed here too, with an Open button.
BillingYour plan, subscription, invoices and licences.
SecurityLogin methods, sessions and recovery.

The home page also shows the ways to get started: evaluate free for 14 days by connecting an installation, buy a licence, or install a licence you already have directly on your deployment.

Your account name appears in the navigation, and Log Out ends your portal session. To find your account ID (support may ask for it), open Technical details on the home page.

Your workspace

The Your workspace panel lists your workspace by its address, @<address>, with its status:

Status What you can do
ReadyOpen takes you to the workspace.
Setting upFollow progress shows the setup steps.
Not createdDetails shows why setup failed.

If you don't have a workspace yet, choose Create a workspace. You pick:

  • Workspace Address: the address your team uses, for example kumo.io/@acme. It cannot be changed later.
  • Data Location: where your workspace's data is stored. See Where is my data stored?

Then choose Create Workspace. Kumo.io reserves your address, creates your workspace and publishes the address, and opens the workspace as soon as it is ready, usually within about a minute. You can leave the page; the workspace appears on your account when it is ready.

If setup fails (for example, someone else took the address first), the page says why and offers Try Again or Choose another address.

An account has one workspace in the portal today. Create a workspace is only offered when you have no workspace in use.

Installations

Installations lists every Kumo.io instance connected to your account: name, status, version, distribution, architecture, last check-in and plan. You can search by name and filter by status. Open an installation to rename it, assign or release a licence, or deactivate it.

See How do I license my self-hosted installations?

Billing

Billing shows your plan and subscription, and lets you buy a plan, change your licence count and open the secure billing portal for payment methods, invoices and cancellation. See How do I pay, change plan or get invoices?

Security

Security opens Login & Security, where you turn on two-factor authentication, change your password and log out of sessions you don't recognise. See How do I protect my account?

Members, single sign-on and provisioning

Members lists everyone in your account; owners invite and remove people there. See Invite your team. Single Sign-On and Provisioning set up OpenID Connect or SAML single sign-on and SCIM for the whole account, on plans that include them.

What you won't find here (yet)

  • Changing your name or email. There is no account settings page for these today.
  • Closing your account. See How do I delete my account and data?

Getting help

Every portal page has a footer with links to Documentation, Support and Status. If something goes wrong, the error page shows a Request ID. Include it when you contact support.
